Not that it seems implausible, but this does make me wonder if anybody's ever actually tried this experiment, or if it's just a metaphor...
I'm quite certain a person would become uncomfortable as the water got hotter, no matter how slowly the temperature was raised. Do frogs lack pain receptors that are sensitive to temperature?
